Diagnostic and Treatment Services
CORE Orthopaedic Medical Center has a number of in-house services to offer our patients in order to aid in the timely diagnosis and treatment of their orthopaedic conditions. These services include:
- An extremity MRI machine to aid in the diagnosis of injuries to the knee, foot, ankle, elbow, wrist and hand. MRI scans on this small machine can be done in 45 minutes or less. We offer a flexible schedule, including appointments on Saturdays.
- Wireless digital radiography is done in-house at the time of a patient’s appointment. With this state-of-the-art technology, x-rays can be viewed by your Physician within minutes of being taken. This assists in providing quicker diagnoses and erases the need to send patients elsewhere for another appointment for an x-ray.
- An ESI, or Epidural Steroid Injection, is a diagnostic tool, as well as a treatment option, for those suffering from back pain. Typically, pain can be relieved with a series of three injections, delaying or eliminating the need for spine surgery. This procedure is performed by our Physiatrist.
- Orthotics are used to stabilize foot and ankle joints, such as flatfeet, hammertoes, neuromas, and any other biomechanical abnormalities that affect the foot and ankle. Our podiatrist evaluates and prescribes a custom-made shoe insert, made on-site, for patients when necessary.
- Viscosupplementation is an injection that is used to treat osteoarthritis, particularly of the knee. The injection aids in the lubrication of your joint, helping decrease pain and increase function. There are various types of viscosupplementation, but the contents of each type consist of substances that are naturally found in healthy joints. Your Physician will help you decide which type is best for you.
