Physical Therapy

CORE Orthopaedic Medical Center Physical Therapy is located on-site for the convenience of our patients. Our Physical Therapists have more than 30 years of combined experience to provide our patients with the highest level of care available and specialize in areas that are matched with the CORE Orthopaedic Physicians. The Physical Therapists and Physicians maintain a line of constant communication, providing an environment with a consistency of treatment and continuity of care.

Each patient’s treatment program is individually tailored to their needs based on a thorough evaluation of their condition. Patients are given therapeutic exercises that emphasize a functional approach based on restoring normal total body biomechanics.

    

Meet Our Physical Therapists

Martina Siftar, MSPT, CSCS, Director of Rehabilitation, graduated from Boston University with her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. Martina is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She incorporates this knowledge of exercise and athletics into her treatment plans to improve athletic ability and prevent further injury. Martina utilizes various manual treatment techniques in combination with exercise prescription during her treatment sessions.

Pam Cloud, MPT, earned her Master’s Degree from CSU Northridge in 1998. Her approach to treatment is eclectic, utilizing various manual and functional techniques to achieve optimal results. As a previous aquatics director, she has developed pool programs integral for pain management and core conditioning for all levels of ability. Pam also specializes in TMJ disorders and related dysfunctions of the neck.

Bill Kosik, MSPT, ATC, Cert. MDT, graduated from the University of California, San Francisco/San Francisco State University Graduate Program in Physical Therapy in 1999. His undergraduate degree was received at San Diego State in Physical Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training in 1989. He was certified as an Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association in 1990. He is also certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment, an orthopaedic approach to the evaluation and treatment of injury, developed by physiotherapist Robin McKenzie of New Zealand. His professional experience includes work with the athletes from the professional and elite amateur levels to the high school and recreational settings.

Michel Langis, PT, graduated with a B. Sc. in Physical Therapy in 1996 from the University of Montreal. He also obtained a B. Sc. in Kinesiology from the University of Laval in Quebec City with a specialization in weight loss programs and ice hockey training. Michel has specialized in manual therapy of the spine and extremities. He combines his manual skills and his extensive knowledge of exercise physiology in order to provide his clients maximum outcomes towards their rehabilitation goals. Michel is also fluent in French.

Kimberly Brummett, MSPT earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Evansville in 1997. She incorporates her knowledge of orthopaedic manual therapy and her experience in various sports and exercise to assist in treatment of orthopaedic dysfunctions, post-surgical rehabilitation, and athletic injuries or prevention thereof. In addition to treating the spine and extremities, her areas of expertise also include TMJ disorders, as she has worked closely with a TMJ specialist.

Winston Purkiss, MPT, CSCS, graduated from Children’s Hospital Los Angeles/Chapman University with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy in 1992 and from California State University at Long Beach with a BS in Physiology and minor in Chemistry in 1987. Winston is NSCA-CSCS certified and an advanced certified Active Isolated Stretching and Strengthening therapist. He has completed the Back to Golf seminar and has worked with golfers of all levels, from the PGA tour pro to the novice, and is an avid golfer himself. Winston specializes in sports and orthopaedic rehabilitation with emphasis on the spine.
