Our evaluation and treatment options have expanded along with our facility and services. Our dedication to superior patient service and care follows through to our evaluation and treatment methods. The following list summarizes on-site methods that CORE Orthopaedic Medical Center has to offer to its patients.
Digital X-Ray: A new advancement in radiology, this type of x-ray is filmless! Within seconds of the test, the x-ray image is displayed online for patient and physician convenience. This new system is not only used by CORE Orthopaedic, but also by the Major League Baseball.
EMG: An EMG or electromyography is a diagnostic test used to study electrical activity in the muscles. This is a common tool used by our hand surgeon because it confirms diagnoses involving muscle weakness, such as carpal tunnel syndrome.
ESI: An ESI or epidural steroid injection is a treatment option for those suffering from back pain. Typically, pain can be relieved with a series of three injections. If prescribed, this procedure is performed by our Physiatrist.
MRI: CORE Orthopaedic can now provide MRI services on-site! MRI's are a helpful and commonly used tool that uses radio waves and magnetic fields to generate detailed images of your body. This is a harmless device that helps diagnose conditions such as bulging discs, fractures, and ligament tears.
Occupational Therapy: Our Occupational Therapy Department strives to help patients regain the functional use of their hands to resume prior lifestyle and occupation. This specialty includes treatment of post surgical procedures, traumatic injuries, fractures, arthritis, nerve and tendon disorders, repetitive motion, sports injuries, and fabrication of custom splints. Learn more about our Occupational Therapy Department.
Orthopaedic Technicians: Our Orthopaedic technicians are individuals trained and licensed in the state of California. They are equipped with skills in casting and surgery assisting. Together, our technicians and physicians work closely together in order to provide you with the best care.
Orthotics: Orthotics are used to stabilize foot and ankle joints such as flatfeet, hammertoes, neuromas, and any other biomechanical abnormalities that affect the foot and ankle. Our podiatrist evaluates and prescribes a custom-made shoe insert for patients when necessary. This procedure is done on site.
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation: Integrated, whole-patient care in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of musculoskeletal and neurologic disorders. Advanced non-operative approaches to spinal disorders and pain management provided by a fellowship-trained physician. Learn more about Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Physical Therapy: The primary goal of our Physical Therapy Department is to promote health, fitness, and return patients to their normal, daily activities. Our physicians work hand-in-hand with the physical therapists to ensure continuity of care of all patients. Learn more about our Physical Therapy Department.
Surgical Procedures: Our orthopaedic surgeons perform various procedures, from carpal tunnel release to disc replacement surgery. CORE Orthopaedic surgeons treat conservatively and allow surgery to be a last option. Surgery is recommended only if it is absolutely necessary and/or if all other treatment options have failed.
Viscosupplementation: This is an injection that is used to treat osteoarthritis, particularly of the knee and hip. The injection aids in the lubrication of your joint. There are various types of viscosupplementation, but ultimately the contents of each type consist of substances that are naturally found in healthy joints. Your physician will decide which type is best for you.
